The small suspension bridge at night. It's not large - doesn't even cover a dual carriageway, and it's sandwiched between Waitrose and Tesco. Incredibly unglamourous.

But I love looking at cities and towns from above, at night. Something about the street lights and the patches of light and life in among the inky quiet dark. Restful and soothing and beautiful. The view from there was just enough to remind me of that. Fine when you're jogging, you don't get a lot of time to appreciate, but that would be why I went back and forth over the damned thing three times. Just to make sure I'd looked around as much as I could reasonably do so before pushing on.

30 mins on the nose to cover 2 miles. But I'm still having to walk for longer periods than I'd like on the uphill. I'd love to get to the point where I didn't have to walk at all. Goal set.

As I already acquired a Steve, the Genesis 5k timed run on the flat is on May 17th and open to non-members if you're up for it?

Absolutely not. :P Sorry, I hate running as it is anyway - hence why it tends to fail the weeks I'm on earlies and thus I have to (shock, horror!) do it in the daylight. Plus, I'm awfully slow and bleck, I can't stand it, sorry. If it was a distance swim, you'd pique my interest, but not running. I will come cheer you both on though?

Oh yes, that's what I want - more people I know to see me in a half collapsed puddle of grim. :P

I'm totally going to have to prep enough this looks easy...

If it's any consolation, I've not run more than 2k yet...

Also two miles is just over the distance of my basic course and a bit further than the objective I set myself to run in one go (3Km - couldn't make the blasted thing measure in miles so...) - it's a good ambition distance and when I was able to run it (which took *redacted time because comparison sucks for doing*) I felt like I could float around whilst walking. This may have been more delusion than reality, but it felt pretty good!
