Sometimes, I hate being a girl.

helblingGenerally speaking, this has been a very good Christmas for me. Good food, wonderful gifts - most importantly to me, due to a serendipitous combination of circumstances, holiday useage and where my time off in lieu fell, I've managed, through throwing myself up and down the country, to spend at least a couple of days with everyone I love.
Stupid hormones, however, means this is the couple of days where apparently all it takes is a little nudge to make me feel like bursting into tears. I hate crying, however, and will only do it when I'm in a 'safe space', or when I'm so upset I lose it entirely. My in-laws' house, where we're spending this year, is wonderfully welcoming and very friendly, but is not classified in my head as a safe space and therefore to prevent this outburst of untimely emotion, my barriers have remained firmly and markedly up, just when I need to relax and drop them a little.
Fucking exhausted.
