Ok, so let's try and get some good points down from the weekend. Because there were good points. I have to remember them, or it's all for naught, even if the overall sensation I got coming away from it was horrible.

- Thanks to Caled, being in a pretty much permanent blade sharp 3 and triple strength, all weekend. Which meant I had silly levels of damage from just daggers, and occasionally had the sharp intake of breath from someone when she hit them with them, and the number came out a lot higher when they were inevitably expecting.

- Remembering how to be just the slightest bit defensive with daggers. I currently have two modes with them, which is offensive but get hit (which is a problem, as they invariably can take more damage than I can, and are doing more than I am) or defensive but can't move forward and be pushed back. I'm trying to work out how to combine the two. Limited success so far, but there was a little bit of success.

- Scouting the wood on my own, and just having that moment of feeling the forest.

- Watching the dawn while stood in the dew and the fresh air and noise of the birds, watching the sunlight slowly become clear and bright and running, and feeling like I was alone in watching the world wake up.

- Seeing that same quality in the moonlight the night before, stood in the field and watching my shadow at gone midnight.

- Speaking of, during hunting at night: "We've got shadows." "Where?" "No, literally, I mean, we have shadows, the moon is that bright - we need to keep to the darker patches."

- Walking the forest in formation with her team to ensure they got absolutely everything. Knowing that same forest back to front by the end of it.

- Being gratifyingly silent when crawling up and over the ridge after a mad scramble down it to hide on the linear when we were waiting out the Anarchy cultists.

- Slowly, so slowly, getting better at moving silently through the forest at night. Actually having moments where she was nearly soundless.

- The moon being that bright, because it meant I had fewer head wibbles about the dark.

- The initial high from being pulled aside by Medici to be told she was much more level headed than the other lieutenants, much less flappable, and how he wanted to compliment her on her composure. Managing to secure some captaincy training as a result. Ok, so that sensation didn't last past the prize ceremony, but it was still nice for the few hours it was around.

- "How many shrines have you found?" "Oh, about 5."

- "Anything out there?" "No, all quiet, we were just bitching at each other about making too much noise."

- "Oh, Anders, you'll be fine - afterall, you're the best scout I've ever trained..." *run*

- Unexpected jealously from Pro, which I'd not known about before.

- Managing to cover the forest from one end to the other at an easy jog, and only being out of breath at the end of it, rather than having to walk it or it being a major ask. Improved fitness definitely helped, and it would appear I've had improvements to my stamina I didn't know about, given while my feet were hurting, that was the only thing that was physically hard about jogging ahead with Anders when heading home after the linear. Which is impressive, given that was three days where, for the most part, I was up and on my feet for the majority of it, and most often, moving at a reasonable walk or faster.

Finally: Am trying not to draw in on myself and completely close off. Easter weekend, I'm considering doing/throwing something social. Who's free, on which days?

I will check with Rachael, but we could be free any of Saturday to Monday, wedding stuff dependant.

I hope you're feeling a bit better. Friday and Saturday I have the performance, and Sunday is likely get-out/recovering from the afters how/seeing if I feel up to LARP. I'm free Monday though.

I'd be in favour; don't think we're doing anything that can't be shifted around except for me overdosing on caffeine on Sunday am. Actually, having said that, Sunday itself should be considered a write-off - I'll probably be vibrating at too high a speed for human interaction.

You should feel justly proud of your improved scouting - I could always hear where Marius was when we did our sweep, but I had to look for you. I know that was daylight and thus technically easier, but still :)
